Social Services
Auxilliary services to students and their families are provided to Hampstead School courtesy of the Centre de santé et de services sociaux Cavendish.

REGISTERED NURSE
The school nurse is available to provide consultation, screening, prevention, vaccinations, referral and health/vaccination records for students.
DENTAL HYGIENIST
The dental hygienist provides information, consultation and prevention information pertaining to dental care and hygiene for students in grade 2.
SOCIAL WORKER
The role of the social worker is particularly important in the area of family support and/or counselling. The collaboration between the social worker and school team allows us to better explore services and support offered to families.
PSYCHOLOGIST
The school psychologist supports students’ academic, social, and emotional well‑being through assessment, consultation, and collaboration with staff and families. The psychologist contributes to intervention planning and the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST (SLP)
The speech‑language pathologist works collaboratively with the school team to support students’ communication needs, including language development, speech, literacy, and social communication. Services are primarily consultative and may include assessment and short‑term intervention.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST (OT)
The occupational therapist supports students who experience difficulties with fine motor, gross motor, sensory, or functional skills that impact learning. The OT provides assessment and recommends strategies and accommodations to promote student participation and independence. Services are primarily consultative and may include assessment and short‑term intervention.
SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL CONSULTANT
The special educational consultant supports school teams in addressing diverse learning needs by providing guidance on instructional strategies, adaptations, and interventions. The consultant assists with IEP development and collaborates with staff to support student success.
AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER CONSULTANT (ASD)
The autism spectrum disorder consultant provides consultation and support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, their families, and school staff. The ASD consultant provides assistance and guidance to the school team, to students with ASD and to their families. They assess and respond to the needs of the students by supporting the educational personnel in meeting a wide range of needs in the classroom.
BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT
The behavioural management consultant provides consultation and support regarding students with behavioural and emotional challenges and collaborates with school staff and families to provide behavioural supports for students in need.
